Activity Type: Short-term joint staff training events

Starting Period: 08-2022

Country of Venue: Denmark

Event Leading Organisation: Taste Lab

Description: The 3rd Learn4Earth Short-term joint staff training event (C4) will be held in August 2022 in Copenhagen, Denmark and be facilitated by Taste Lab in collaboration with AAU. The venue will be the facilities of Taste Lab, where several meetings and activities of a similar nature have been successfully conducted. The duration of the 2nd Learn4Earth Short-term exchanges of groups of pupils will be 3 working days and be scheduled in a way to ensure the easiest and most cost-effective travel itinerary for the participating pupils. Importantly, the 3rd Learn4Earth Short-term joint staff training event (C4) will be held in conjunction and parallel with the 2nd Learn4Earth Short-term exchanges of groups of pupils (C5). This will result in some activities and sessions conducted in parallel, and some activities and sessions conducted with participating partners and pupils blended.

The 3rd Learn4Earth Short-term joint staff training event (C4) will include a thorough walk-through of the project progress and schedule by project leader Anna Marie Fisker and a reiteration of the administrative duties of the partners. This will include the discussion of Learn4Earth objectives, goals and the progress of all Intellectual Outputs, Multiplier Events and Learning/Teaching/Training Activities in order to secure that all partners are still in full understanding of the project, and are working according to the project schedule. Special attention and time will be given to present and discuss progress and structure of Intellectual Output 1 – Learn4Earth Methodology & Approach and Intellectual Output 9 – Learn4Earth Handbook to ensure the methodological framework and the final output of the project are still clear to all participating partners. 3rd Learn4Earth Short-term joint staff training event (C4) will, importantly, focus on presenting and further developing the work of IO3 – Food Experiments with the chef through discussions and workshops. This will include facilitating the implementation of selected Hands-on Activities in C5, and the subsequent evaluations of these. The 3rd Learn4Earth Short-term joint staff training event will, therefore, be a mix of presentations by participants, time for working on the production of IO3 and discussions concerning implementation and evaluations.

During this event, all partners will workshop, discuss and evaluate the progress of the other new innovative hands-on activities and approaches that have been implemented, tested and evaluated in the respective Intellectual Outputs at this point. Participating partners will discuss and workshop on how these new innovative hands-on activities and approaches have been or soon will be incorporated into the current curricula, and across different school subjects, considering the different cultural and socio-economic contexts of the partner schools. The strategies for dissemination and exploitation of results will be discussed during the meeting. This will include evaluating and enhancing the specification of realistic targets, the timetable of dissemination activities and milestones, the overview of expected results, and a specification of how monitoring and follow-up have and will be done. Such plans will be continuously updated, discussed and developed throughout the project duration, and evaluated and discussed at all Short-term joint staff training events to ensure optimal dissemination and impact.

The 3rd Learn4Earth Short-term joint staff training event will further contribute to making the participants comfortable with the newly developed teaching methodologies and will allow the participating partners to further develop, implement and evaluate the teaching material that has, and will be used to complete the 2 Short-term exchanges of groups of pupils. This will especially be the case concerning the 2nd Short-term exchanges of groups of pupils (C5) which will happen parallel to this Short-term joint staff training event. Conducting these two Learning/Teaching/Training Activities (C4 and C5) in conjunction with each other will allow the Learn4Earth project to conduct some important activities and sessions with participating partners and pupils blended. Importantly, this will also allow all participating partners the optimal framework to work positively to develop, implement, discuss, and evaluate with their colleagues, resulting in an optimal interdisciplinary collaboration between participants in the involved universities, schools, organisations and practitioners and will successfully support the achievement of the project’s innovative objectives.

The 3rd Learn4Earth Short-term joint staff training event (C4) will be held in conjunction with the 3rd Transnational Meeting (M3) to optimize project resources and reduce overall travel costs and environmental impact.

Participants will include at least one person from each of the Learn4Earth partners.
